Nothing discourages either. I have tried multiple types of feeders (my slig=
htly crazy nature hating neighbour is anti bird feeding and is afraid the p=
igeons will give him some terrible disease,despite the research papers I pr=
inted out for him), different orientations of the feeders,cages,even hangin=
g decoy feeders full of cheap mixed seed. They beat them all eventually. I =
suppose it is fun trying,and I now have 12 different feeders that I fill up=
 regularly,with 5 different types of food in 4 locations,so the birds at le=
ast have choices,and a way to avoid the cats ,and feeder bullies. Cheers,=
