These short presentations from several = members will take place on Tues. Feb. 24 at 6:30 pm in the Community = room ( New Glasgow Library). These presentations are always one of the = most look-forward-to and should provide a wide variety of topics of = nature. Come on out and bring a friend and support our local naturalists = and lets hope for good weather.=20 Also mark in your calendar another presentation by a local naturalist. = On Tues. May 3, Mark Brennan from White Hill will give a presentation = titled "Seeking the Great Silence-Exploring the Old Growth Forests of = Vancouver Island Through Art and Sound".=20 Mark has been expanding his art work into recording sounds in nature and = in May 2014, he made a trip to Vancouver Island where he captured both = sights and sounds of old growth forests and he will share this work with = us and demonstrate how this not only a way to preserve these intact = wildernesses in art but also how it has deepened the sense of wild in = him and hopefully to us the audience. He will also be speaking on the = Garry Oak forest - an amazing ecosystem.
