I would disagree for the following reasons. Hunting is limited by things =
like the fledging process and how much stress the population can =
endure, etc. so hunting cannot be done for most the of year. But hunting =
season is one of the best times to be in the woods and it would not be =
fair to nature enthusiasts to lose both weekend days of this unique =
season.=20

Subject: Just condition: e: [NatureNS] Nova Scotia Sunday Hunting survey
=20
Hi Ian & All, Feb 18, 2015
Having thought about this a bit, I think legalization of Sunday =
hunting for big game is just.=20
=20
Give or take a few, there are 52 Sundays in a year of which about 6 =
fall in the big game season (someone may be able to provide more exact =
numbers).
=20
Those who must work Monday to Saturday inclusive AND don't wish to =
enter woods on legal big game hunting days have about 46 Sundays to do =
so.=20
=20
But in contrast, those who must work Monday to Saturday inclusive =
AND wish to hunt big game either have to hunt illegally on only 6 =
Sundays or not hunt.
=20
Therefore I think it only just that hunting of big game on Sunday be =
legalized. Non-hunters who must work Monday to Saturday inclusive would =
on the other hand have a valid case if the numbers were reversed; 6 =
Sundays without hunting and 46 Sundays with hunting.
=20
And furthermore it is relevant that non-hunters can legally enter =
woods on hunting days. Not entering is their choice and not an enforced =
restriction.

I can see the argument from both sides.=20
=20
To add to Dave's comment according to a 2007 letter by the NS federation =
of Anglers and Hunters Tony Rodgers, in the Nova Outdoors magazine no =
non-hunting person has been killed or injured in a hunting accident (not =
to say it couldn't happen). =20

It sounds like most of the arguments are centered towards humans =
enjoying recreation in the woods on Sundays, as opposed to giving =
animals Sunday to rest. I agree that hearing gun-shots while out walking =
in the woods, can be a little unnerving though it's unlikely you're in =
danger, especially if you're wearing orange.=20
If the noise and disturbance factor is the main issue, perhaps the =
season should be open for bow-hunting. In the same letter Tony Rodgers =
suggests opening up Sunday hunting for bow-hunters. No noise, reduced =
range of harm, and better safety record than firearms.=20
Perhaps allowing bow-hunting on Sundays could be a reasonable =
compromise.
