This morning about 0930, as I was working in 30-40cm of snow in our yard, t=
wo Vs of Canada Geese went over, flying high from SW-NE and calling loudly.=
They dropped briefly over Rose Bay, which is frozen, and then seemed to co=
ntinue on.

Late this afternoon, the first Fox Sparrow of the year arrived at our feede=
rs. Well into the dusk it was still feeding, after, I presume a long flight=
. At first it was accompanied by a horde of Juncos, about twice the number =
that have been overwintering, so it appears that they too have begun to mov=
e.
