5 April 2015 - Terence Bay & Lower Prospect, HRM

It is snowing now, but it was beautifully sunny at noon when I drove to the
Terence Bay peninsula to check for Woodcocks. There were many grassy
patches in Terence Bay, perhaps too many, and I found no Woodcock there,
but there were many robins, as well as a flock of 30 *Bohemian Waxwings*,
and my first *Tree Swallow* of the year. In the village of Lower Prospect
however, I found 4 *American Woodcock*, including a group of three on a
steeply fronted grassy yard with a full southern exposure. There were also
many more robins, some successfully finding (and fighting over)
earthworms.

It seemed almost spring-like. And now it is snowing . . .
