Hi everyone

April 23, 2015 - Regular Monthly Meeting =96 Tara Imlay =96 Nova Scotia =
Museum of Natural History, Lower Auditorium =96 7:30PM

"It All Comes Down to Food" - Mauritius Kestrel Recovery and Swallow =
declines.

Food availability can be a limiting factor for species, particularly =
those experiencing steep declines. Changes in food availability can be =
driven by a variety of factors including habitat loss/degradation, =
invasive species, and climate change. During this talk, Tara will =
describe the potential for food availability to hinder the recovery of =
the Mauritius Kestrel and the research she undertook to examine kestrel =
food availability. She will also describe the preliminary results of her =
PhD research looking at long-term trends in swallow breeding, climate =
change and what it may suggest about food availability for swallows.

Our meetings and talks are open to the general public and followed by =
refreshments. See you there.
