Hi All,

Nocturnal migration was very light this week, less than half the number of
calls recorded during the same period in 2013 at the same location. Compared
to the results posted here for last week, sparrows were down from 145 to 21
calls, shorebirds from 147 to 3 calls, and warblers were up from 40 to 71
calls. Swainson's Thrush had still not arrived. As a result there were only
2 thrush calls recorded; one Hermit Thrush and one Veery. Eleven species of
warblers were recorded with Magnolia (26 calls) and Black-and-White (11
calls) being the most common. Yellow Warblers were conspicuously lower than
for the same period in 2013 (6 calls down from 21 calls). A summary of calls
recorded for the week along with an estimate of the number of individual
birds is presented below.
