On the evening of July 4=2C Sue Beaver and her husband took a drive out to =
Blue Rocks just before dark. Sue reported that she had seen 30 common nigh=
thawks feeding. I went there the next evening on July 5 and saw absolutely=
nothing. So were these early migrants=2C possibly failed nesters? It see=
ms a little early to be seeing so many nighthawks in one location. Any com=
ments on this would be appreciated.=20

In May=2C Earl Meister of Stonehurst had told me about an all black humming=
bird coming to his feeder. I went there shortly after=2C but the bird had =
moved on. Apparently a lady in East Chester has been seeing this same bird=
during the past few weeks. I'm guessing it is a melanistic ruby-throated =
hummingbird. It is too bad that no photos were able to be obtained. =20
