On any given evening 2- 4 Veerys can be heard around the yard and in the woods singing or doing their one call note .Actually as I write this at noon there is one at the woods edge doing it's one call note. At least 2 pairs of Ovenbirds have been active in the same woods this year. Wood warbler activity has been notably low in this location this year but it may be more of a specific nesting habitat issue for them. Present and active and in pairs in the stream area have been Am. Redstart, Yellow Warbler, and Common Yellowthroat.
