It was quiet on the island for the weekend with only 52 species. I had 72 =
species with birds seen on the way to and from the island. Of note there w=
ere three pied-billed grebes in the Tiddville Marsh. There were lots of wa=
rblers on the move on Digby Neck on Sunday. There were a number of locatio=
ns I would have liked to have checked=2C but heavy rain put a stop to my ex=
plorations. Mink Cove had two gray catbirds=2C a blue-headed vireo and var=
ious warbler species. The bulk of the phalaropes on the pelagic were red. =
We only confirmed about a dozen red-necked phalaropes near the start close=
r in. The four pomarine jaegers were very exciting. I did not see a posti=
ng here=2C but on the morning pelagic taken by some of the group and as wel=
l with Bernice Moores=2C I'm told that a south polar skua was present and s=
itting in the water right beside the boat. =20
