s which have a full complement of seeds. And apples which stick on in spite=
of one or more seed-free carpels will usually be smaller and flat sided.</=

ypical of Gravenstein (suggesting heavy thinning) and well rounded, subject=
to internal breakdown, juicy but with bland flavor (probably low in both s=
ugars and acidity). So if 10 is the rating of a quality Gravenstein th=
ese water bags were about a 3.</span>

ut but some thinners act by preventing fertilization of weaker blossoms. Po=
ssibly, due to secondary factors, a thinning spray overthined resulting in =
so few retained blossoms that apples developed in spite of the absence of f=
ully formed seeds.</span>
