  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">Hi All</span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">Yesterday was so pleasant I went to see if I could find a portage<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">into Shannon Lake. Looked easy on the map! but the portage wasn&#39;t<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">there - I saw a lot of nice pine trees but no water.<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">So I looked on the other side of the river and saw a trail into the woods.<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">That was it - not the first mistake I ever saw on a map!<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">As I walked the trail I came upon a beaver logging road. I knew then water<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">was close so I followed it maybe 400 m and sure enough ended up in a cove.<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">Why the beavers would go so far to harvest winter food is hard to know.There<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">was plenty similar trees near by - who knows what a beaver knows?<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">I sat and looked&#160;beside the water for a spell and watched several fish - trout? - feeding on<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">flies and moths on the water. We call them midges but species unknown. The fish came<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">quite close to shore in shallow water. Then jumped out for supper.</span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">Then swam in big circles. Brought back good memories!<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">On the way out I passed a small bush with big leaves. About 1 meter tall the leaves were a <br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">very attractive yellow and brown and were about ready to fall. I need go back latter<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">to see if I can id this one.<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">Enjoy the fall<br/></span>
  </div>
  <div>
   <span style="font-size: 12pt;">Paul<br/></span>
  </div>

</body></html>
