The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year. At our location on Ear= th, winter is the season of dormancy, darkness and cold. However, the Decem= ber solstice marks the "turning of the Sun"; the daylight hours increase. I= t=92s the beginning of brighter days to come and looking forward to the con= tinuance of nature=92s cycles. Throughout history, cultures have celebrated= during the time of the December Solstice, with feasts, festivals and holid= ays.
