Alix:

Bill Danielson, a retired meteorology professor, wrote a very good and
accessible book on Cape Breton weather. It does focus on this island, but
is broadly applicable. http://cbup.ca/books/danielson-weather-cape-breton/

Bill also does a phone-in on weather on CBC Cape Breton. He has a real
knack for listening, understanding questions and then providing thoughtful
answers aimed at the questioner. I think the same approach comes through
in his book.

It was published by CBU Press and Nimbus.

PS No politics that I recall in the book.
