A map of global wind and ocean current, click on the word "earth" in =
lower left and you can play around with the various heights of wind. I =
really don't understand it all, but find it interesting to see the =
difference in speed and direction of the winds at different elevations. =
You can zoom in on the map by clicking on specific areas and also "grab" =
and rotate the earth image.

http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/orthographic=3D-6=
0.00,0.00,232 =
<http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/orthographic=3D-=
60.00%2c0.00%2c232>=20

It would be interesting to be able to go back to maps of the days of =
bird migration fall outs to see patterns.

I've decided to try and learn about storms, winds, jet streams, highs, =

Arctic Oscillation, fronts... There are many things online, but thought =
I'd put the question out to this group. Do any of you have any =
recommendations for books on these topics? I'm starting to see lots of =
mention of weather patterns while reading about birds, so I think it =
would be very helpful.

Thanks.
