I came across this recipe in a German cookbook I took out from the library. For the foragers out there:

Chocolate Fir Tips: Cut off the new (light green) tips of fir or spruce. Dip into chocolate with a teaspoon to coat and let cool completely.

Has anyone tried this? Almost anything tastes good dipped in chocolate but somehow I can't imagine Chocolate Fir Tips would be very tasty. New enough shoots probably have less or no flavour/aroma, however.
