Some hints to prevent personal emails from going to the whole NatureNS group:

When replying obviously look at the "To", "Cc" and "Bcc" lines to make sure only the desired address is present and not the forum address. You no doubt already do this. 

And you should also remove the square bracketed NatureNS from the subject line just to be sure the email is not routed to the group by mistake. Different email providers (gmail, hotmail, bellaliant, eastlink, sympatico etc) all have slightly different settings for their email programs regarding the treatment of square brackets and/or closely related subject headings. Sometimes the email program's "rules" may decide you actually wanted that message to go to a forum you are a member of based on the similar subject line even if you did not.
