To complement Angela's report I had a similar experience at Cherry Hill. Th=
e birds seemed to funnel in through the inlet at the far end of the beach a=
nd alight on the banks of the inlet. The winds were strong from the NE. Th=
ere were no shorebirds on the flats. Although there have been several speci=
es already present many of the new arrivals are normally not seen on this b=
each at this time of year. The total count was:
Black-bellied Plover 12
Piping Plover 1
Greater Yellowlegs 17
Willet 8
Ruddy Turnstone 5
Sanderling 10
Semipalmated Sandpiper 18
Short-billed Dowitcher 19
Sylvia Fullerton
