Hi Jim and all
It was a rather poor count at Temperance St, New Glasgow last night. It was 2=
0C, moderate breeze, no precipitation and 20 % cloud cover with a bit more c=
loud cover as the watch progressed. Perfect night really. Allana Boyd and I a=
rrived at 20:25 and were joined a bit later by Fred MacKenzie and the counts=
 reflect a consensus of our observations. =20

A few swifts made infrequent passes high up until 20:46 when 2 dropped into t=
he chimney and five more at 20:59. The main main group dropped in at 21:08 w=
ith about 116 going in in three little groupings.. There were a few straggle=
rs with the last 2 at 21:24 giving a total of 142 for the night a far cry f=
rom the 285 May 24 by Fred MacKenzie and 254 May 23 by myself. Traditionally=
 largest counts for the season will be anytime over the next week often 450-=
700.=20

Note observations at Temperance St chimney are always posted to the ebird ho=
tspot for those wishing to check ahead of time to get the approximate entry t=
imes of previous days. Just a reminder A Swift Night Out at New Glasgow Libr=
ary 182 Dalhousie St. tomorrow at 7 followed by a group viewing at 334 Temp=
erance St starting about 839 pm =20

Cheers
Ken
