All swallows and other aerial insectivores =C2=A0such as Chimney =C2=A0swif=
ts,and Nighthawks have declined drastically in the last few years. Nobody r=
eally knows why although there are many plausible =C2=A0theories. The secti=
on on this in the newly published Atlas, 2nd Ed., covers the subject well. =
Having said that, the Tree swallows in the boxes at Miners Marsh and Port W=
illiams sewage Lagoon are doing well.

We were approached by a Valley Resident that, for many=20
years,
regularly has had Barn Swallows using their swallow nest=20
boxes.
This year no sightings.
We would appreciate relevant comments, we have not seen a swallow=20

of any species, this year.=C2=A0 For many years we made regular=20
trips to Bridgewater
during which we would see Tree and Barn swallows along=20
#10Hwy.
We no longer make these trips.
We did see Tree Swallows at Oak Island Inn this=20
year.
Thank you. Pat and Barbara
