 Hi Everyone;
While doing a BBS survey on Ostrea Lake Road on Canada Day, I saw a flycatc=
her I couldn't identify.=C2=A0 It looked like an Eastern Phoebe or an Olive=
-sided flycatcher; dusky, brownish, not verbalizing.=C2=A0 When it flew I g=
ot a glimpse of a deep, golden orange colouring on its belly!=C2=A0 I had n=
o idea what it was, and my 3 minutes were up so I had to move on; but when =
my survey was over, I returned for a better look but couldn't relocate the =
bird.
When I got home, I did some research and Say's Phoebe was a very close matc=
h.=C2=A0 If anything, the colour on the belly was brighter than depicted in=
 the field guides and online.
The next day was Saturday and it was raining followed by very high winds on=
Sunday.=C2=A0 So on Monday I went back (with my camera this time) but stil=
l couldn't locate the bird.
Directions:=C2=A0 Follow Ostrea lake Road (about 5 km east of Musquodoboit =
Harbour) almost to the end to house #2917.=C2=A0 This house is at the end o=
f a causeway separating open water from a boggy, swampy field with a small =
stagnant pond in it, close to the road.=C2=A0 The bird was seen in the tree=
s and bushes at the edge of this field.
Hopefully, someone else can find it and get a picture of it.
Suzanne
