Hi All,

Due to the time required for processing the heavy nocturnal migration at
Cape Forchu, I'm several days late in sending out this report.

The reports for this week can be found at the following links:

Carleton, Yarmouth County:
http://johnfkearney.com/Carleton_Yarmouth_County_2017.html

Cape Forchu, Yarmouth County:
http://johnfkearney.com/Cape_Forchu_Yarmouth_County_2017.html

There was good nocturnal migration over the ten-period extending from the
evening of August 22 to the morning of September 1. This migration was
particularly impressive at Cape Forchu where 4,445 flight calls were
recorded with 1,228 of them on the night of August 24-25. A large
composition of this flight consisted of warbler species that are normally
much less abundant, notably Northern Waterthrush, Bay-breasted Warblers,
Cape May Warblers, Wilson's Warblers, and Canada Warblers. Thrush migration
picked up during this period, and there was a good movement of Bobolinks.
Rare or uncommon birds included Pine Warbler, Prairie Warbler, White-crowned
Sparrow, and Wood Thrush.

John
