Doing some odd jobs at St Marks Church Mill Cove yesterday and noted
several large seals about a hundred feet out from the shore in front of the
Church. There were 5 or 6 seals not really doing anything but floating around
and occasionally diving. The bottom is shelving rock and doesn't appear to
be different from the surrounding shore line and is not likely to have more
fish than anywhere else. Talking to a couple of locals it apparently is a
regular phenomena at this time of year but they don't know why.
I would like to think it's because they are protestant seals but I suspect
there is another reason.
