Hello Paul & All,
You may have noticed civil war in Syria. This had roots in record=20
severe drought affecting a major agricultural area. A very large number=20
of farmers and their families became refugees. This imposed an=20
impossible strain on the rest of the country. The rest continues to be=20
history in the making. Recent drought in Eastern Africa has turned=20
formerly productive grazing land into wastelands. Have you not noticed=20
the large number of people trying to migrate from the Middle East and=20
Africa to Europe by fair means or foul ? Do you suppose that they just=20
want to see the world for the fun of it ?
None of this is funny. Within a few decades it, as matters now=20
stand, will get much worse. Is North America ready for 3 years of crop=20
failure running ?
Yt, DW, Kentville
