Hi Paul & All,
</div>
<div>
    In former times, when I had time to tie flies and fish, I found a wet fly which looked ugly and made by winding a Grouse feather (from the back I think) around a hook and tying it off (no tail & no ornaments) worked great for trout in shallows of lakes with wave action.

Hi All
</div>
<div>
A few weeks ago I was driving and saw a road killed
</div>
<div>
grouse laying on the pavement. It was a dark bird and I thought
</div>
<div>
Spruce Grouse but when I went back it was a Ruffed but dark feathers.
</div>
<div>
I thought it would make some nice flies for my trip to Mud Lake next spring
</div>
<div>
so I took it home and hung it in the wood shed till I was able
</div>
<div>
to make some Breadcrust flies. The trout at Mud Lake should like that.
</div>
<div>
Anyway I looked a few days ago and I have a Grouse skeleton and a very
</div>
<div>
happy looking Squirrel! She was kind enough to leave me some feathers
</div>
<div>
but I need pick them up.
</div>
<div>
And here I thought squirrels ate nuts!
</div>
<div>
Enjoy the winter
</div>

Paul
