This ship sails January 31, 2018 when I retire as Curator of Botany!

My career spans 30 years at NSM, and I met many of you in the naturens comm=
unity over the course of those decades. I am proud of my accomplishments: p=
ublishing 3 books (1 as a museum employee), an ebook and 2 apps. Given the =
job of curating a collection that had never been catalogued, I have spent h=
alf of my last 18 years cataloguing and data entering 40,000 specimens.

My collaborations have been largely external. I maintained my relationship =
with Acadia University since a student there in the 1980s and 1990s. The re=
cent ebook, NS Plants was coauthored with my friends and mentors from Acadi=
a. I built relationships with the IWK Poison Centre, NSAC Ornamental Horti=
culture group, NS TIR Environmental, City of Halifax Environment group and =
many others over the years. I served as Secretary, Vice-President, and Dire=
ctor of the Canadian Botanical Association from 2005-2015. I led the Netuku=
limk team to revamp the foyer, building a welcoming space for our visitors.

Many of you contributed to my success, providing me notes, comments and pho=
tos. The Nova Scotia Plants ebook alone had a contributor list of over 40 i=
ndividuals! I am forever indebted to Dr. Sam vanderKloet for his guidance a=
nd support while I was his student. And to Ruth Newell, my friend and mento=
r. Thank you all. For those who wish to remain in touch, I am the
