Hi All,

I ran my recording equipment for the first time during the last two =
nights.
The monitoring station is in a new location, Beaver River, Yarmouth =
County.

=20

The number of flight calls during these two nights was 3 to 4 times =
greater
than for the same dates at Cape Forchu last year. The microphone is =
stronger
than the one used at Cape Forchu but that should only account for, at =
most,
a doubling of the number of calls recorded.=20

=20

The most common birds were: (Calls/Estimated Birds)

Yellow Warbler: 131/80

American Redstart: 122/68

Magnolia Warbler: 67/38

Canada Warbler: 41/30

Black-and-white Warbler: 38/29

=20

Based on past acoustic experience, the peak in Canada Warbler autumn
migration takes place over the next two-three weeks.

=20

For those using eBird, you can see my nocturnal counts under the name =
=93John
Kearney NFC Station Beaver River=94. Nocturnal counts have their own =
eBird
protocol. Based on this protocol, each night is reported in four count
periods.

1.	Civil sunset (about =BD hour after sunset) to astronomical sunset
(about 2 hours after sunset).
2.	Astronomical sunset to midnight
3.	Midnight to astronomical dawn (about 4 and =BD hours after midnight)
4.	Astronomical dawn to civil dawn (about =BD hour before sunrise)
