I was surprised to see this big silhouette on a wire early this morning in Barss Corner, Lun Co. A juvenile Red-tailed Hawk. I have never seen a raptor this large balanced on a utility wire. It took off with only a wobble, the big wings carrying it easily up and away. Taken through the windshield: https://www.flickr.com/photos/150605880@N07/29065379667/in/dateposted-public/
Here is this juvenile's call once it landed in some trees bordering the field, just before the blue jays located it.
