I saw an adult Snowy Egret today, from Shore Road in West Chezzetcook. At about noon, two hours before low tide, it was feeding along the edge of an open muddy area in the marsh. An hour later, I saw it flying over the marsh, and landing in the marsh grass near the end of Shore Road that is closest to Grand Desert.

Also noteworthy were large numbers of White-rumped Sandpipers. I counted approx. 450, feeding in shallow water in large groups. Many later flew to the part of the marsh that can be seen from the end of Bellefontaine Road.

Cheers,
Susann Myers
