The next meeting of the Nova Scotia Bird Society=92s new southwest =
chapter is
scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Yarmouth County Museum and =
Archives.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m., and there will be two speakers. =
Alix
d=92Entremont will speak on the history of endangered terns on the =
Tusket
Islands, and Nicholas Knutson will make a presentation about the
newly-established tern colony on Gull Island in Lobster Bay.

Alix is a bird expert from West Pubnico who studied Geomatics =
Engineering at
the University of New Brunswick. He is making a major contribution to =
our
knowledge of birds in Nova Scotia in his extensive documentation of the
birds of the Tusket Islands. He is also the editor of Nova Scotia Birds, =
the
quarterly magazine of the Nova Scotia Bird Society. Nicholas Knutson is =
from
the Municipality of Clare in Digby County. He has studied at =
Universit=E9
Sainte-Anne, the University of Ottawa, and is currently a Masters =
student at
Acadia University.
