David,
 You seem to forget that that logging destroys the habitat for nesting for some bird for many years. Now that the cycle of cutting is getting shorter and short I question your 1% figure. And birds are not the only losers in the race to level the Nova Scotia forests, consider all the undergrowth, insects and other living creatures that live in a mature forest.

 I thank all those who are making the effort to have L&F obey the international law on Migratory Bird conservation.
