Bernard Forsyrthe went to check his owl nest box in his Wolfville Ridge Rd
backyard last week and found a soft feathery nest being built. He knew it
wasn't a Barred Owl's effort, wondered if maybe a grey squirrel had taken
over. Imagine his surprise when he checked it this week and found a nest
full of DUCK eggs! No adult duck on location. Now he is wondering if a Wood
Duck is the owner of this nest site, as he knows their propensity for tree
nests and concerned about the lack of ponds close by. I know of one small
pond not too far away but it still will be quite a challenge for any adult
duck to get her brood there.

I will keep you posted as to what occurs in days ahead.

Keep safe.
