<span style="font-size: 12pt;">A good day to get the canoe out what with social conditions easing.</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Sucker Lake was my choice and a few others as well but boats</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">never like to be closer than haling distances. Bad things happen</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">when they get to close!</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">The wind was cooperative. A light wind in our face going down the lake,</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">it increased when I turned and took us back to the car very easily.</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">A pair of Loons were fishing also. Hope they had better luck than me.</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">The boats don't seem to bother them. </span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">One end of the lake has a mixed woodlot of hardwood and spruce - tall trees</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Lots of little birds running on the leaves. Hard to id but it is difficult in the canoe.</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Black flies were at the stage where they put in an appearance but it wasn't necessary</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">to curse at them or get the fly dope out. A pleasant number you might say.</span>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Down at the end there is an old gravel road. The wild strawberries have taken over</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">and the place is white with blooms. All the blooms I saw had not had any frost damage</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt;">so there should be a few little berries there in a couple of weeks.</span>

<span style="font-size: medium;">While sitting admiring the flowers a Ruffed Grouse started drumming</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: medium;">in the woods and continued til I was out of ear  range on the way to the car.</span>
</div>

<span style="font-size: medium;">Nothing makes a trouting paddle better than a grouse drumming.</span>
