Here's what I've got from Bishops Mills, Ontario - these are first 
records of blinking while doing auditory monitoring at home.
You can see there's a great variation in when they first are seen - 
there haven't been any yet this year.

  02 June 2001 - few blinking

  12 June 2003 - few blinking,fullMoon
  06 June 2004 - few blinking,flying ones buffeted by the wind
  11 June 2005 - few blinking
  02 June 2006 - blinking in flight thru trees
  30 May 2007 - few blinking,1st of yr
  26 May 2008 - 1inWeirsHouseRedMaple,first seen this year
  30 May 2009 - few blinks
  19 May 2010 - few blinking in trees E of CoRd18
  31 May 2011 - 1blinking flyby
  18 May 2012 - few blinking in Acer negundo behind houses
  28 May 2013 - few blinking in NegundoGrove
  07 June 2014 - few blinking amg tops of trees
  26 May 2015 - a few blinking
  24 May 2016 - few blinks
  10 Jun 2017 - first few blinks of the year
  27 May 2018 - 1 blinking thru trees@WeirsHouse
  12 Jun 2019 - 1 blinking flyby
