Thanks, Dave, for the common name, which I had forgotten — it’s an extremely common tiny clover-like weed with yellowish flower-heads — I see it all the time along road edges and on lawn edges.  It’s an unrecognizable relative of alfalfa, of course, re Medicago genus.  Cheers and regards from Jim
