COLES, EDNA LEVEINA (WHITE)
Aug. 3, 1912 - April 9, 2005

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edna Leveina Coles announce her passing on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at the Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony in the presence of her family at the age of 92 years. Leaving to mourn her children Stedsman (Beulah), Gerald (Alma), Kirby (Sarah), Winston (Eileen), Clementina (Jim), Judy (Ken) and Bernita (Coy); brothers Steward (Maria Jane), Stanley (Roslind); 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Augustina, Clariss and Hazel, as well as large circle of other relatives and friends. She predeceased by her husband Leslie, daughters Mildred and Thamsie, mother Anne and father Thomas, sisters Mildred and Mary Jane, and brother Howard. The family received friends at St. Thomas Anglican Church in Sandy Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12 with Rev. Ross Rumbolt officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Savage Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix/Bear Cove.

HUGHES, ABEL
Happy Valley-Goose Bay
Jan. 26, 1928 - April 12, 2005

Passed peacefully away at the Labrador Health Centre on Tuesday, April 12th, 2005, Abel Hughes of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, at the age of 77 years. He was predeceased by his wife Irene (1997), brothers John, George, Thomas, Wilfred, James and Nicholas, sister Minnie, parents Thomas and Jessie, great-grandson Thomas and parents-in-law Maud and Esau Fennimore. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories companion Vera Budgell; son Dennis (Karen); daughter Karen (Ren Cunard); son Ernie (Beverly); grandchildren Gina (Neil Yates), Kenneth, Kelly, Evan, Brandon and Brittany; great-grandson Joshua; brother Leslie (Barbara); sisters Julia (Nath Coates) and Becky (Wilfred Coates); brothers-in-law: Ernie Fennimore (Leslie) and Don Diamond; sisters-in-law Lucy, Belinda, Barbara and Joan; nieces and nephews, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held on Saturday, April 16th at St. Andrew's Anglican Church with Archdeacon Jennifer Gosse officiating. Memorial donations may be made to The Lake Melville Shrine Club or the Canadian Cancer Society.

HALL, ELIZABETH JOYCE
South Rawdon
Elizabeth Joyce Hall
, age 51 of South Rawdon, passed away April 13, 2005 in the Victoria General Hospital. Born in St. Anthony, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of Ruby Slade of Vermont. Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Derrell; daughters Kate of Oregon and Elizabeth of Ontario, and son Kenny of Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Elias and Victoria Slade. No service by request. Burial to take place at a later date. FLYNN, ROBERT EDWARD
Forteau

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert Flynn announce his passing in Forteay on April 18, 2005, at the age of 72 years. Leaving to mourn with fond memories wife Mary; children Norma, Boyd (Lorraine), Craig (Noreen), Elaine (Brad) and Denise (Chris), grandchildren Jordan, Tyler, Trevor, Amanda, Stephanie, Hayley, Braden, Kiare, Thomas and Joshua (T. J.), as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Pearl Flynn. Visitors were received at the Anglican Church in Forteau on Monday and Tuesday from where the funeral service took place on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Roberta Woodman officiating and Venerable Francis Buckle, Organist was Rev. Norman Cutler. Interment followed in the church cemetery in Forteau. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted.

PENNEY, GORDON GEORGE
Port Hope Simpson

Passed peacefully away at his home on Friday, April 22, 2005, Gordon George Penney of Port Hope Simpson, age 75 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Shirley; sons Dale (Sherry), Glen (Sharon) and Gordie (Beverly); daughters Lillian (the late Ambrose), Judy (Edgar), Beverly (Gary), Ruth (Brian), Vida (Tony) and Loretta (Todd); daughter-in-law Mary; sister Marjorie; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, as well as a large number of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Alex, parents Thomas and Mary Penney and son Guy. Visitation took place at Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in Port Hope Simpson from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 25. Interment followed in the Pentecostal Cemetery.

SMITH, JOHN Raleigh
May 8, 1922 - April 27, 2005

Passed peacefully away at John M. Gray Centre on Wednesday, April 27,2005, John Smith at the age of 82 years. Leaving to mourn his only child Scott (Marie); grandchildren Lynn Rumbolt (Shawn), Lee Smith-Powell (Frank); three great-granchildren, Hanna and Emma Rumbolt and Erika Powell; sister Vida (Abel); brothers Noah, Willis (Nellie), Thomas (Hilda) and Barton (Virtue), as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was redeceased by his wie Anna (1990), parents John and Drucilla Smith, brothers Jerry Smith and Felix Ward, and sister Elizabeth Dawe. The family received friends at St. Mary's Church in Raleigh from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 with Rev. Ross Rumbolt officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Raleigh. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to K. M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Wilfred Hutchings, funeral director.

DUMARESQUE, GEORGE
L'Anse au Clair

It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Dumaresque announce his passing at the Labrador South Health Centre Long Term Care Unit on April 28, 2005 at the age of 88 years. Leaving to mourn his daughter Olive (Manuel); sons Pierce (Gloria) and Calvin (Teresa); grandchildren Murray, Lisa, Morgan, Marvin, Romanica and Charlene; great-grandchildren Robin, Taylor, Brandon, Dillon and Alex; sister Kathleen Letto; nephew Eldredge Dumaresque, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Lily, parents Mary-Ann and Thomas Dumaresque, sisters Viola and Susanna, brothers Albert, Stanley and Ellis and grandson Shane Dumaresque. Visition took place at the Anglican Church in L'Anse au Clair on Thursday and Friday from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 with Rev. Lee Michelin officiation assisted by Rev. Roberta Woodman. Interment followed in the church cemetery in L'Anse au Clair. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, L'Anse au Loup.

CAINES, WILLIAM
Mountain View Estates, Meadows
(Formerly of Bartlett's Harbour)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Caines announce his passing on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 77 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories sister Neila (Mike) Mahar of Bird Cove; brother Gerald (Bernadetta) Caines of Bartlett's Harbour, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially the staff and residents of the Mountain View Estates in Meadows who have been like family over the past few years. He was predeceased by his parents Alonzo and Mary Caines and brother Adrien. Visitation was held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Bartlett's Harbour from where the funeral service took place at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 2 with Fr. Devas officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bartlett's Harbour. As expressions of sympathy flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

GENGE, JEREMIAH
Nov. 9, 1917 - April 30, 2005

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jeremiah Genge announce his passing on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at John M. Gray Centre, St. Anthony at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Alma; children Lyman, Terry (Sylvia), Donna (Sald), Nena (Kie) and Margaret (Matthew); son-in-law Chesley; 12 grandchildren; four great- grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Virgina, grandson Donovan, mother Anastasia and father Simeon. Visitation took place at St. Matthew's Church in Anchor Point on Sunday and Monday from where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3 with Capt. Jason Haggstrom officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Anchor Point. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix/ Bear Cove.

WOODWARD, PETER
Happy Valley - Goose Bay

Passed peacefully away at the Labrador Health Centre on April 30, 2005, Peter Woodward of Happy Valley - Goose Bay, formerly of North Boat Harbour, in his 83rd year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Mildred (nee Coates); sons Herb (Kay) of Happy Valley- Goose Bay and Alvin of Corner Brook; daughter Elsie Woodward of Happy Valley- Goose Bay; brother Melvin (Sybil); six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son Cyril (1964). Visitation took place at St. Mark's Anglican Church in North Boat Harbour from where the funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 3. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, North Boat Harbour. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home.
