Telix v.322 Configuration for CCN

INSTRUCTIONS ON CONFIGURING TELIX 3.22 (for DOS) FOR CCN

These are the instructions on how to configure Telix located in the
CCN Public Download Area for use on CCN:

1. Download the 4 zip files named: TLX322-1.ZIP, TLX322-2.ZIP,
TLX322-3.ZIP and TLX322-4.ZIP and place them in a directory called:
Telix - on your C:\ drive (if you have a hard drive) or A:\ or B:\
drive (if you do not have a hard drive).

Unzip the files via PkUnzip or another unzipping program of your
choice. If your present terminal program doesn't download properly or
if you do not have one at the present time, call the Office at
494-2449 and it can be arranged to be supplied to you for the cost of a
   blank disk.

2. Run Telix.exe and answer the four questions you are asked: monitor
(b/w, color or monochrome), modem baud rate (300-115,200 bps), com port
(usually port 2 - external modem, port 4 - internal modem) and if you
want a status line (for your on-going information at-a-glance) at the
bottom of the screen. Press [ENTER] to advance to each option.

3. Type O while holding down the ALT key. This will bring up your
   configuration options screen.

Type in the name: Chebucto Community Net [ENTER]
Type in the number: 1170, - to disable Call Waiting temporarily
                       9, - if calling through a switchboard
                       1,902, -if calling long distance
4948006 - the CCN modem dial-in phone number

NOTE: You must use commas after the first several numbers. The commas
act as spacers to pause the dialing to allow for another dialtone.
Without them, your phone line may become confused if the numbers
are entered too quickly. If your dialtone is particularly slow,
you need to replace the commas with capital W's (for Wait for a
         dialtone).

Select: VT-102 for terminal emulation. [ENTER]

If you make an error, press [ENTER] continuously until you reach the
bottom of the options list and start over.

Save your Dialing Directory entry at the bottom of the list by selecting
Yes to the question 'Do you wish to save this entry?'

Use the arrow keys to move your option selector over to Dial.
You are now fully configured and ready to dial into CCN. Press [ENTER]
to dial in to CCN. Telix will automatically re-dial if you encounter a
busy signal.

10. Log-in as usual; using 'guest' (without the quotes) and pressing
[ENTER] if you don't already have an account.
