	On the Town The days may be drawing in. But there is no reason that you can't still display some colour and zest, when you are going out "on the town". This neck and shoulder wrap is ideal for those days and nights that are getting just a little cooler. Worked in the round in a Garter Stitch Rib pattern, this jaunty cowl makes use of bobbles along the edges. Together with the unpredictability of a handpainted yarn, they make this a one-of-a-kind piece. The sample pictured is knit with Lucy Neatby's Cat's Pajamas, 80 % merino wool, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon (300 m./328 yds. per 100 g. skein), colour "Fiery Fuchsia". 	In the Piazza Not quite a poncho, not quite a sweater, this hybrid works as both. Easy to pull over your head and slip on, it is perfect knitwear for cooler days. Worked in a simple geometric shape, this design uses wide ribs that flow into the Basketweave Stitch Pattern of the main body. Short rows shape the shoulders and a 3-needle bind-off joins the front to the back so that seaming is kept to a minimum. The sample pictured is knit with Fleece Artist Woolie Silk 3-Ply, 65% wool, 35% silk, (230 m./252 yds. per 100 g. skein), colour "Burnt Sienna", size Extra Small/Small. This pair of reversible scarves, suitable for him and her, are constructed with lacy zig-zag stitch patterns, each with its own unique knit-and-purl combination. 	At the Market When it's time to go shopping, it's the perfect time for a generous shawl to wrap around your shoulders. Make it a special one that shows off the subtle gradations of colour in a handpainted yarn. Using a simple lace stitch pattern combined with Reverse Stockinette Stitch, this sumptuous stole is worked entirely on the diagonal, giving this piece its exquisite drape. 	Sea Urchin One of the most exotic, eye-catching finds on any beach is the sea urchin. The equally decorative and eye-catching Sea Urchin summer top is worked sideways in the Wave Stitch. As the final step, the lower border is picked up and knitted downward to the length which suits you best. 	Tidal Streams As rivers make their way to the ocean, swirling, flowing, they create currents and eddies and eventually merge with the sea in tidal streams. This stole, worked on the bias in a Lace Garter Stitch Pattern, reflects the constant movement of tidal waters. The gently ruffled ends, streaming outwards, represent the melding of river and ocean. 	Waves of Lace A cool, lacy shell, knit in a linen-silk yarn, is perfect beach wear. Over a bikini, over a tank top, or over a T-shirt. The frothy, wave-like stitch pattern echoes the gently rolling waves along the shore. The matching scarf can be worn on its own or as part of the ensemble. 	Mermaid At home on the beach, the Mermaid can be seen sporting among the waves. When a light cover-up is needed, she wears her beach poncho. The intriguing openwork stitch pattern reflects the fluid transparency of her watery home. 	MANON Manon wears a curved wrap which is as luxurious as an ermine stole. Through a series of short rows, the wrap is worked, in ruching, down from the long, upper edge. 	QUEEN OF THE WAVES In the tradition of Faroese shawls, the Queen of the Waves shawl is worked from the bottom edge. Its central gusset is then shaped at the neck to give the shawl a structure that allows it to sit easily on the shoulders. It has two versions: full-length (as shown) and a shorter version. 	SHORELINES Mimicking the rugged angles of the shore, the Shorelines jacket is constructed in panels of Garter Stitch, interspersed with wrapped stitches. 	OPEN WATERS Simple to work in alternating patterns of Seed Stitch and wrapped stitches, the Open Waters wrap is worked in one piece, then sewn along one side. 	ANCIENT BARK Reflecting the continuity found in Nature, the Ancient Bark Moebius wrap encircles the head and shoulders in continuous movement. Easy to work, the wrap uses blocks of Basketweave Stitch interspersed with rows of Garter Stitch. After knitting, the work is given a single twist and the two ends are grafted together, forming a continuous loop. Shown in Celestial Merino (100% wool), colours "Sugar Maple" and "Scarlet". 	FLUID LINEN Movement is everywhere, unending. The oblique lines of twisted stitches on this cotton top keep moving in a constant direction. The front and back are knit separately and joined at the shoulders. The stitches for the collar are picked up around the neck and knit in the continuing flowing pattern. The lines do not stop until they reach the end of the high-necked collar. There, a few pearl buttons close the collar at the back of the neck. 	LADY OF THE FOREST This wrap, evoking the mystery of the forest, is knit in a continuous flow of bias knitting until the collar and border are added at the end. Enhanced by the natural striping of the handpainted yarn, it drapes in different interesting curves when worn in different ways.
