Hi Helen,

There is so much spam on the internet that we currently have 3 mail
servers doing nothing but sorting through the junkmail flood. Mail is
being delivered as quickly as possible but occasionally, one of the
servers gets bogged down and will hold onto the cleared mail an extra day
or so before releasing it. We're still tweaking.

Junkmail creators are very sophisticated these days. They are sending
mail that looks like legitimate email but with piles of junk words; the
desire is to mess up our filters that self-teach themselves to recognize
keywords that identify junkmail. By causing our self-teaching filters to
grab all words, they are, in effect, negating our filters. This,
unfortunately, is a problem facing all providers.

Some providers get around this by making their filters tougher to
bypass but they may end up, inadvertantly, deleting some legitimate email
in the process. CCN errs on the side of caution. We apologize for the
delays in some of your mail.

I can cope with the temporary spam that I'm still getting and have to delete
with every download, but the worst problem is that some of my emails are
still 2 and 3 days late. The delays are so long that in some cases I
assumed the missing emails had been deleted or perhaps the person wasn't
ever going to reply at all (the ones I know about anyway) and then they
finally show up sometimes after I needed them.
.
Can you give me some idea when this problem will end?

Thanks,
Helen
