Hi all,

As of September 29th, 2011, Google, through its www.google.com and
www.google.ca websites, now utilizes a javascript redirect in each of its
search results, meaning that CCN's browser, Lynx 2.7, can no longer attain
results the conventional way when using Google. Lynx 2.8 (in testing)
does recognize javascript and doesn't have this problem but 2.8 has a
bunch of problems of its own which is why we're still using 2.7 as our
main Lynx browser.

As a 'fix' for Lynx 2.7, I am suggesting this workaround when using
Google: instead of trying to go through the link results on the main page
of your search, select the cached version of the result you want and then
select the second link of that page which is the current version of the
page you want; it's an extra step but completely avoids Google's nuisance
javascript redirect results.

Short of using this workaround, you can still enter the url in the link
result as a direct url using CCN's 'go' command. Any questions regarding
this workaround can be directed to: userhelp@chebucto.ca.
