Last week i mentioned that Transport 2000 Atlantic is encouraging us to
send letters to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Transport, who
is seeking input on future of Via Rail.

I called Ottawa today and confirmed that that window is still open ...
they still are accepting letters. If you are an environmental expert and
can wax eloquently on railways and climate change, that's great ... but as
for the rest of us, general opinions on train travel are good too.

The more letters the better ... it's important for environmental [and
romantic!] reasons to keep those trains rolling, so get out your pens and
write to: Jacques Lahaie; Clerk, House of Commons Standing Committee on
Transport; Ottawa, ON K1A 0A1. ph 1-613-996-1496

Transport 2000 would appreciate a copy too: jk.pearce@ns.sympatico.ca

all aboard ... :)
