Hello everyone, just a reminder that tomorrow, Friday Nov.27, is International Buy Nothing Day. That means a 24 hour moratorium on consumption. Take this opportunity to consider how our consumer culture affects our lives and the lives of others in our local and global community. Join us in the CELEBRATION! There are many exciting activities planned for the day. Our alternative recipe tastes a bit like this: 1. Begin with: Not Buying Anything (of course) 2. If that wets your whistle then add : A trip at 12noon to the front of the Spring Garden Rd. Library for leafletting and Street Theatre gallore all around the downtown! 3. Add finally sprinkle a touch of : Actions and pamphleting in shopping malls around the city beginning at 6pm. Meet at the parking lot on the corner of Sackville, Bell and South Park streets (across from the CBC radio building). This recipe is sponsored by Youth for Social Justice, NSPIRG's Eco Action group and other concerned culinary commoners. Happy Buy Nothing Day! Participate by not participating!
