Hello All,
Here's a couple of fun fundraising weekend events for local non profit
organizations.

00 Drum Jam - Fri Feb 4 at the Khyber
As part of CKDU 97.5FM's 15th Annual Funding Drive, CKDU, the Khyber and
the Hysterix Coven bring you a celebration of Imbolc (Candlemass).
There'll be some pagan festivities celebrating rebirth and cleansing as
the first stirrings of spring approach. There'll be some live musicians
performing. And the main event will be ZERO ZERO DRUM JAM, an
all-are-welcome celebration of rhythm and dance designed to cleanse your
soul with the power of community drumming. It's improvised and
participatory. All are encouraged to come out and jam!
So bring your drums, your feet, your voices and just $3 to the Khyber,
1588 Barrington St, Friday February 4. Starts 9:00PM, ends 1:00am. All
proceeds go to CKDU's funding drive.

Limbs and Light Latin Night - Sat Feb 5 at the Church
The following evening (Sat Feb 5), The Church on 5657 North Street will
host LIMBS AND LIGHT LATIN NIGHT, a benefit for landmine survivors in
Nicaragua. Featured will be the hot new Latin band ALMA LATINA, plus Latin
dance lessons, a Flamenco demonstration, an African drumming & dance
demonstration, and Central American food. Tickets are $7 in advance (Oxfam
office or Big Life Cafe), more ($8?) at the door.
