REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL from OXFAM CANADA Please re-distribute this RFP to any person or group who might be interested in it. ________________ OXFAM CANADA presently has a glass green house, approximately 24 feet x 48 feet, which was given to them by Nova Scotia Power. OXFAM is prepared to donate this greenhouse to a community, social, or educational group which would be interested in rebuilding and reusing the structure. In order to rebuild the structure, a concrete frost depth foundation and waist-high side walls need to be constructed. As well, the re-assembly of this metal structure and glass pieces requires considerable technical ability and commitment. Some new glass and possibly some structural pieces may need to be replaced. On one page of paper, indicate the following: 1. Name of organization, 2. Contact person at the organization, 3. Telephone, Fax And Email Contacts, 4. Address with postal code, and 5. Description of the site where the greenhouse would be erected and 6. The use to which it would be put. Applicants will be adjudicated upon the social, educational, and community involvement benefits of the proposal. Also , certain technical/logistical matters such as land ownership, ability to transport the greenhouse from the Halifax site, ability to erect the greenhouse, and the ability to finance the reconstruction must be addressed. Applicants must agree to prominently display the OXFAM logo and to continue to operate the facility as agreed for a period of 5 years. Please note that this RFP closes at 5pm Friday May 26. Applications will not be received after that date. A short list of proponents will be prepared and interviews will be arranged to select the best proposal.
