I would like to tell you about a workshop I have been working on with =
the Halifax Raging Grannies. I hope that you will share this information =
with your friends and colleagues, and that many of you will join us for =
a wonderful weekend of rejuvenation and activism!=20

The event is called:

Creative Activism with the Raging Grannies!=20

and it is happening at the Tatamagouche Centre in Nova Scotia, March =
9-11 (Friday 7pm to Sunday 1pm). The cost is $205 (including meals, =
accommodation and tuition), and bursaries may be available from the =
Tatamagouche Centre for this (our phone number is 1-800-218-2220).=20

You may have heard of the Raging Grannies. They are caring women of all =
ages who use song to protest and raise awareness of the issues of peace, =
the environment and social justice. Satirical and serious, they are =
politically conscious but nonpartisan. The Raging Grannies write their =
own material, setting politically pointed lyrics to familiar melodies. =
Dressed in eye-catching hats and wild "Granny" clothes, they sing =
wherever and whenever they can; at peace and environmental rallies, in =
schools in places where the public congregate. Sometimes they show up =
where they aren't expected or wanted!=20

Elinor Reynolds, a Halifax Raging Granny, has been working with me on =
this workshop, designed to inspire and educate activists. Joining us =
will be Tessa Mendel, Director of the Women's Theatre and Creativity =
Centre in Halifax, who will teach us how to use popular theatre to =
explore, analyse and inform activism work. Also, Olga Gladkikh, of the =
Coady Institute, will be doing a session on how to understand and =
utilize the media for activism. And of course the Grannies will be there =
throughout, singing and cajoling us all into a fulfilling and hilarious =
weekend experience!=20

I appreciate your sharing this information as widely as you can. And I =
hope to see you there too!=20
