Greetings all,
This month we have a presenter that comes highly recommended in these
days of global anxiety. Michael Frank, from an organization called
Brahma Kumaris, will present an engaging and interactive session
entitled, "The Power of Thought" using some simple explanation and
meditation exercises. Everyone is welcome to join us as we explore
meditation as a personal journey into the core of one's spiritual truth
and reality. As our presenter Michael explains, "To become a 'master'
is to claim ones rightful spiritual inhertitance. It is the greatest
gift one can give the self as well as the world."

Peter D.

Event: Monthly Sacred Circle Group
Topic: The Power of Thought Exploration and Meditation
Date: Tuesday, November 6, 2001
Time: 7:00 pm, prompt start
Place: 5500 Inglis Street, Halifax - Unitarian Church Hall

MORE ON BRAHMA KUMARIS

Raja Yoga as taught by the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University
(BKWSU) is a method of meditation and spiritual philosophy (knowlege) to
become 'once again' a master of the self and thereby attain deep and
constant inner peace. Through internal peace one is then able to
experience power, spiritual love, purity, and harmony with oneself and
the world. This would include all other sentient beings, in particular
other human beings; the natural environment, and the body itself.

The words 'once again' is used because we are, at the heart, all masters
and any suffering we have been experinceing is as a result of an
illusion which has cast a shadow over our true identity as eternal
spiritual beings. As we destroy this illusion, change is becomes very
easy and natural. It is as if the natural spiritual laws of the universe

conspire in our favor. Not only that, but our influence on the world
around becomes very great, and so the slogan; " World change through
Self transformation".

The Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University, with over 5,000 branches
in 86 countries, offers people of all backgrounds an opportunity to
deepen their understanding of universal spiritual principles and learn a
range of spiritual skills through a variety of educational programs,
courses and learning resources. The university is a non-governmental
organization in general consultative status with United Nations Economic
and Social Council (ECOSOC) and affiliated to the UN Department of
Public Information. The Brahma Kumaris are also the recipient of seven
UN Peace Messenger awards. The BKWSU is an independent body and there
are no fees for its services. Each Centre is administered and supported
financially by the voluntary contributions of its teachers and students
who live and work in the local community.
