Hi all forests enthusiasts!

You won't want to miss this rare opportunity! Government, industry and
environmentalists get together to discuss forest harvesting in Nova Scotia.
This is, in a sense, a follow-up to the successful Clearcutting Forum that
was held in May of 2000 at DalTech.

The Registered Professional Foresters Association of Nova Scotia (RPFANS),
in conjunction with the Certified Technicians Association, the Canadian
Institute of Forestry and the Environmental Network Forests Caucus, are
hosting a seminar on "Harvest Practices" Thursday November 29th at the Best
Western Glengarry in Truro.

This sometimes controversial and often misunderstood topic will be discussed
from the perspective of Science, Economics and Ethics. The seminar will
involve exhibitors and speakers from a range of backgrounds. The cost to
attend this one day event is $25 (prior to Nov 16th), $35 after, and free
for not-for-profit, non-government organizations. The itinerary and
registration form follow in the body of this message.

Exhibitors are welcome! Here's a chance to let government and industry in on
some alternative methods of forest harvesting practices. We anticipate that
the audience will be Professional Foresters, Forest Technicians, members of
the Environmental Community and the general public.

The cost to exhibitors is $100. With this you will receive a 10 ft draped
table and two chairs. If you require more space this can be accommodated.
In order to provide maximum exposure between exhibitors and registrants,
refreshment breaks will be held in the same room as exhibitors.

If your organization is interested in participating, we would like to hear
from you. For more information or to register, please call me at (902)
861-3624 or Tim O'Brien at (902) 893-5628 or email at teobrien@gov.ns.ca.

Following is the itinerary and the registration form.

Please pass this message along to all those on your own email lists who may
be interested. All are welcome!

See you on the 29th!
