The sust-mar queue is empty today, so in place of the usual message, a housekeeping point: Please don't preface your message with "please post" or other administrative comments. They don't help me ... and they go right into the message when it goes on the list, making it less visually appealing to readers. To make a long technical story short, when you send your message to sust-mar@chebucto.ns.ca, (the correct and only address for messages to the list), your message tumbles down a special chute, and it is immediately obvious to me that it is destined for sust-mar. The system attaches a lot of gobbledy-gook to the beginning of your message ... these make it difficult for me to notice comments attached to the beginning ... and even harder to remove them. Same for subject lines. Fortunately, these machine codes are cleaned off by the system when i throw the switch to send it to sust-mar. Please DO attach a descriptive subject line ... one that tells readers WHAT is in your message .... and makes it stand out in the ARCHIVES (web page). And FEEL FREE to send a SEPARATE message to me, with "sust-mar" in the subject line, if you want to explain WHY this message is urgent, WHY it is OK that it's cross-posted, or other administrative stuff.
