Become a Moderator Using Deliberation Dialogue
Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 26-27, 2002
Storm date, Feb. 2-3, 2002

The Atlantic Council for International Co-operation and Rising Tide
Co-operative Ltd. in conjunction with the Canadian International Development
Agency will be training 10 moderators in the use of deliberation dialogue on
Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 26-27, 2002 (Storm date, Feb. 2-3). Participants’
expenses will be covered. Training will be held in a central location in
Nova Scotia.

These moderators will then be asked to conduct one to two three-hour
dialogues (they will receive $75 for conducting the dialogue and travel
costs will be reimbursed) in Nova Scotia on Climate Change.

During the dialogues of 3 hours each, a group of 5 to 20 people discuss
different approaches that can be taken on the issue of climate change.
These approaches are outlined in participants' guides that present the pros
and cons of each approach in a balanced way. The choices look at the
climate change issue from different perspectives based on different values.
These dialogues occur with the assistance of the trained moderators.
