The Halifax Regional Municipality needs your help.

We're developing a Regional Plan to ensure HRM grows as we want it to; to
ensure economic success; and to protect the things we value most. We need your
help in deciding what HRM should look like over the next 25 years.

To give everyone in HRM a chance to have their voice heard, we are distributing
the "Directing the Action" workbook. In it we ask your opinions on some of the
tough issues we face in HRM. Your answers will help us form achievable Regional
Planning goals and objectives. Ultimately, they will help us make the tough
decisions about our economy, settlement patterns, transportation, environment
and Halifax Harbour.

The workbook takes about 45 minutes to fill out. That's a substantial time
commitment in your busy life, but it is important. We can't plan the next 25
years from a quick survey. We need to take the time now to plan for our future.
Fill out the workbook online at www.DirectingTheAction-HRM.com or pick up a
paper copy at HRM libraries, recreation centres, customer service centres or at
the Halifax/Dartmouth ferry terminals. Call 490-5857 to have one sent to you.
You can complete the workbook on your own or in groups. Please sit down with
your family, friends or colleagues to discuss your answers. Everyone's opinions
are important to us.

If you would like assistance in filling out the Directing the Action workbook,
please let us know. Our knowledgeable Regional Planning staff is available to
offer more detailed information and explanations. The Regional Planning website
and newsletters also offer valuable information and are available at
www.halifax.ca/regionalplanning.

Workbooks can be completed until Monday, October 6.
This is your municipality, we need your input!
